What a gorgeous weekend this is going to be!  The Jordan Fall Festival will be ongoing from Friday to Sunday with all sorts of fun events.  Check it out at jordanfallfestival.com . 149 North Main Street Village of Jordan 13080 Meanwhile, a short distance away in the Village of Jordan, I will have the beautiful home at 149 North Main Street (ML#S296384) open on Sunday, from 1:00 to 3:00.  It was built in the mid-1800s and they certainly knew how to erect homes that lasted back then.  The walls are thick, and the owners are amazed at how little the utilities cost for over 3,000sf of living space.  The bedrooms are large - something that is usually only seen in master bedrooms these days.  The kitchen has a walk-in (and around) pantry, plus there's a small office just off the living room. Everything That Rises Must Converge

A few weeks ago I held an open house on Mother's Day. I'd always had good luck that day and I thought this particular house - 130 Raspberry in Camillus - was pefect for the day because it had a potential in-law apartment. I pictured people taking Sunday drives with "Mom" and stopping in to start the conversation about how she should move in and then maybe finish the conversation with an eventual offer. I am an optomist, but I visualized it all right down the line. Unfortunately, no one came. Bob and I discussed it going in to Syracuse later that day to his mother's house for the annual family gathering. I said that possibly people didn't take Sunday drives like they used to because of the gas prices (then about $3.65, I think) and he told me about life in the Czech Republic. Somebody got the memo! Our favorite eyesore —ERRR, “Mysterioursly [sic] private and breathtaking” beauty dropped the price for the second time in 22 days. And the agent seems particularly proud of the seller’s abject failure—ERRRR, generosity . To wit: "MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION ONE MILLION DOLLARS!" In some circles, lopping off a million dollars from the original asking price would signify a desire to get serious about selling or at least a willingness to negotiate. I’m not in that circle. No, considering the original asking price was a trust fund-busting $3,250,000, all the million-dollar reduction makes me think is, “A good start for a petulant, greed-faced ignoramus.” In fact, I’d be willing to bet you see a price increase in spring of 2009. If they were truly serious about selling, then how do you explain the 438 days it took to finally scalp a million clams from the asking price? Slow learners?
